Test operation of Workation (Digital Nomad) Visa that allows foreigners to work remotely while traveling in Korea has been implemented.
※ Implementation Period : Jan. 1, 2024 ~ Dec. 31, 2024
o Who can apply
-Those who have been employed in a foreign company (or own foreign company) for more than 1 year and are able to work remotely
-Accompanying immediate family members
o Required Documents:
- Visa application form, Valid passport, Passport sized photo, Certificate of Employment, Payslips, Bank Certificate, ITR, Apostilled criminal records certificate (Apostilled NBI clearance for Filipinos), Medical insurance certificate
- In case of family's visa application : Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate
o Income Requirements
- Must earn more than twice the Korean GNI(Gross National Income) per capita of the previous year as announced by the Bank of Korea, after tax deduction.
* As of 2022, 84.96 million Won per year (7.08 million Won per month)
o Criminal record certificate
- Submission of a criminal record certificate from the country of nationality of the applicant is required. If the applicant has stayed for more than one year in another country in the last five years, additional criminal record certificate of the relevant country must be submitted
- Subject to exemption from submission: Under 14 years of age
o Medical insurance
- Personal medical insurance with a guarantee of more than 100 million Won for hospital treatment and evacuation to their home country during their stay in Korea
o Visa type: F-1-D (Workation) Multiple entry Visa (Validity 1 year, Stay period 1 year)
o Visa Fee: PHP4,500 (fee may differ for some nationalities)
All applicants of long-term visa(90 days above) from the mentioned 35 countries below will be required to submit Certificate of TB (tuberculosis) Screening issued from hospitals designated by the embassy.

** TB treatment history, Signs & Symptoms suggestive of TB, and Chest X-ray result are mandatory from Dec. 1, 2022 (Use attached format)
Submission of Certificate of TB (tuberculosis) Screening will be waived for applicants of Diplomat(A-1), Official(A-2), and Agreement(A-3) visa types. Certificate of TB (tuberculosis) Screening will be waived as well for applicants of visa types which require medical certificate during application, such as Spouse of Korean (F-6), and Spouse of Resident in Korea (F-2-3).
- Validity of the certificate is 3 months
- Children below 5 years old are exempted
*Picture of the applicant should be attached at the Certificate of TB (tuberculosis) Screening. The picture should bear the dry seal of the hospital or the signature of the doctor in-charge. The laboratory test result should be submitted together with the Certificate of TB (tuberculosis) Screening.
If result of examination is positive the visa application is automatically denied.
